This workshop is a basic introduction for instructors transitioning from Blackboard to the Canvas LMS. It provides a step-by-step walkthrough of how to navigate the new platform and use its essential features to manage a course.

 

Objectives

The goal is to help you get started with the fundamental tools in Canvas, such as setting up a basic course structure, managing student rosters, creating various types of assessments, and utilizing analytics to monitor student success.

 

What You Will Learn 

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Navigating the Canvas interface and notifications.
  • Using Modules to organize your course.
  • Communicating via Announcements and Inbox.
  • Creating simple Assignments and Quizzes.
  • Using the SpeedGrader for basic grading.
