A Heartfelt Tribute to Our DHSOs: Celebrating Safety and Collaboration

We - Connect

DHSO 1

Held on 6 February 2026, this year’s DHSO Appreciation Gathering once again brought together safety representatives from across campus to recognize their unwavering commitment and contributions to fostering a safe and healthy working environment. The annual event serves as a meaningful occasion to honour DHSOs for their year‑round support, collaboration, and dedication.

Words of Appreciation

The gathering commenced with warm opening remarks from Ir Dr Ben LAU, Interim Vice President (Campus and Facilities). Ir Dr Lau expressed sincere gratitude for the vital role DHSOs play in championing a robust safety culture, reinforcing the message of collective effort and dedication at the heart of our mission.

Celebrating Our 2025 Safety Stars

A highlight of the event was the presentation of certificates to our Safety Stars 2025. We are proud to recognize these outstanding colleagues for their exceptional contributions to their departments:

  • Ms Ling Ling CHOI - University Health Service (UHS)
  • Ms Echo WAN - Department of Applied Biology and Chemical Technology (ABCT)
  • Mr Much YEUNG - Campus Facilities and Sustainability Office (CFSO).

New Traditions and Networking

Beyond the formalities, the gathering offered a wonderful opportunity for colleagues to reconnect over lunch, strengthening the cross-departmental ties that drive our success. This year also marked the debut of the Safety Mini-Game Challenge—a fun, interactive way to reinforce essential safety concepts. The enthusiastic participation and distribution of special gifts added a fresh, energetic dimension to the day.
