Assessing Risk of your Workplace

Course objectives:

  • This course equips attendees with hazard identification and risk assessment skills so as to facilitate effective health and safety risk management in the workplace.

 

Target:

  • Personnel who are responsible for assessing workplace risks should take this training. Other personnel who are interested are also welcome.

 

The Health & Safety Committee has launched a risk assessment program which requires all departments to assess risks of their workplaces using a risk assessment form, and submit a risk register to HSO. This training is designed to enable the departments to perform this assessment.

Manual Handling Health and Safety

Course objectives:

  • This course aims at introducing the proper manual handling and lifting methods, basic knowledge on musculoskeletal problems associated with improper manual handling and preventive measures.

 

Target:

  • All PolyU staff members who want to learn more about manual handling.

Selection and Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Course objectives:

  • Provide basic knowledge on the selection, use, storage, and maintenance of common PPE in workshops and labs
  • Emphasize correct methods of wearing and applying PPE
  • Feature live demonstration for proper PPE usage

 

Target:

  • All staff members who need to use PPE in the workshops or laboratories.
