A Heartfelt Thanks to our DHSOs at the Appreciation Gathering

On 12 February 2025, we proudly hosted our first Departmental Health and Safety Officers (DHSOs) Appreciation Gathering to honour their invaluable contributions and unwavering support.

[1]  Professor Ling Kar-kan, Interim Vice President (Campus Development and Facilities), delivered the opening remarks, expressing his heartfelt appreciation for the dedication and hard work of our DHSOs and supporting colleagues.
[2] Dr Michael Yuen (2nd from left), Mr Chan Tsz Lam (3rd from left), and Ms Henrietta Ho (4th from left) received certificates of appreciation from Professor KK Ling and Mr Chris Leung, Director of Health and Safety (1st from left), in recognition of their outstanding contributions to enhancing health and safety in their departments.

The gathering began with a heartfelt message from Professor Ling Kar-kan, Interim Vice President (Campus Development and Facilities), who expressed sincere gratitude to our Departmental Health and Safety Officers (DHSOs) and supporting colleagues. He commended their dedication and hard work in advancing health and safety across the campus.

A highlight of the event was the presentation of the Safety Stars 2024 awards. This year’s honorees were:
- Dr Michael Yuen from the University Research Facility in Life Sciences (ULS)
- Ms Henrietta Ho and Mr Chan Tsz Lam from the Department of Applied Physics (AP).
Each was recognized with a Certificate of Appreciation for their outstanding contributions to promoting health and safety within their departments. Read on for their inspiring efforts in the next section.
