Biography

Dr. Qiuyu (Luca) Lu is an Assistant Professor (Presidential Young Scholars Scheme) in the School of Design at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Director of the Symbiotic Intelligence Lab, which designs intelligence for mutualism between humans, nature, and machines. He holds a Ph.D. in Design and a B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from Tsinghua University, and has conducted research at the MIT Media Lab, UC Berkeley, and Carnegie Mellon University. His award-winning work, published in leading HCI venues, has also been exhibited internationally at Ars Electronica and the Milan Triennale.
