The Power of Passion - PolyU Orchestra Annual Concert

"Symphonic Pathways: Nurturing Future Talents"

6 March 2026 (Friday), 7.30 pm
Jockey Club Auditorium, PolyU

"The Power of Passion - PolyU Orchestra Annual Concert" aims to showcase the musical talents of the PolyU Orchestra, enriching the cultural ambience of the PolyU campus. This year's theme, "Symphonic Pathways: Nurturing Future Talents," celebrates the artistry of music and its role in fostering the next generation, highlighting the profound connections that music can create within the PolyU community.

Under the baton of Mr Leung Kin-fung, Artistic Director and Conductor, the PolyU Orchestra will perform a diverse selection of works. This year, PolyU Choir members will also take part in the concert and demonstrate their talents under the guidance of Mr Alex Tam, conductor of the choir. The partnership between the PolyU Orchestra and Choir exemplifies how music serves as a powerful platform for expression, enabling individuals from the PolyU community to develop their artistic identities.

The concert will feature Mr Fan Hiu-sing, a talented and internationally recognised violinist, as our guest soloist. His performance and dedication to music inspire PolyU Choir and Orchestra members to pursue their artistic dreams with passion and perseverance.

In addition to Fan’s performance, the evening will feature Dvořák's Symphony No. 9 in E Minor, Op. 95, From the New World. The symphony’s themes of hope and exploration resonate with a vision for a bright future, urging the young talents to look beyond their own experiences.
