Visit to Qingyuan Maglev Line

Date: 25 Apr. to 26 Apr. 2023                 Location: Qingyuan Present Members: Prof. Ni Yiqing, Dr Wang Sumei, Dr. Chen zhenwei, Mr. Lu Yang Communication contents: We visited Qingyuan maglev line construction site and had a meeting with the genneral manager and other managerial and techninal staff  of China Railway Maglev Transportation Investment Construction CO.,LTD. Dr. Wang gave an introduction of CNERC-Rail. Then, personnel of the two parties have an initial disscussion about: 1.To develop a BeiDou-based online monitoring system for Qingyuan maglev; 2.To improve exsiting code or write new code for maglev and internationlize the code; 3.To promote construction of new maglev line in Zhejiang province and Greater Bay Area.

Shenzhen EBORAIL Technology Co., Ltd. visits CNERC-Rail Centre

Dr. Yuan Wang (General Manager), Mr. Fu-Lin Liao (Executive Vice General Manager) and Mr. Jian-Hao Zeng (Engineer) from Shenzhen EBORAIL Technology Co., Ltd., Dr. Xiao-Zhou Liu (Associate Professor, Shenzhen Technology University) and Dr. Hui-Yue Tang (Associate Researcher, National Supercomputing Shenzhen Center) visited CNERC-Rail and research facilities in Industrial Centre (IC) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University on 24 April 2023. Firstly, Dr. Zheng-Wei Chen (Research Assistant Professor), Dr. Wen-Qiang Liu (Postdoctoral Fellow), Mr. Yang Lu, Mr. Zhen Lin, Mr. Da-Zhi Dang, and Mr. Sheng-Yuan Liu accompanied the visiting mission on their visit to visit the Railway Corner, where Dr. Zheng-Wei Chen introduced the latest research and achievements of the CNERC-Rail Center. Following that, the members of the CNERC-Rail Centre accompanied the visiting delegation on a tour of the platform for electromagnet-rail coupling vibration testing of maglev. Afterwards, the visiting mission conducted further communication with Prof. Yi-Qing Ni (Director of CNERC-Rail), Dr. Zheng-Wei Chen (Research Assistant Professor), Dr. You-Wu Wang (Research Assistant Professor), and Dr. Su-Mei Wang (Research Assistant Professor), in the meeting room of Z105. Dr. Yuan Wang presented their company’s latest products, research, and solutions in measurement, monitoring, and algorithm applications for railways. Both sides stated their commitment to strengthening cooperation, leveraging each other’s advantages, and driving the advancement of rail transit scientific research and product implementation.

Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU) visits CNERC-Rail Centre

Dr Jian-Mei Zhu (Former Vice President of the Southwest Jiaotong University, Director of Engineering Research Center for Operational Safety and Security railway Industry), Dr Peng-Xiang Wang (Dean of Shanghai Research Institute of Southwest Jiaotong University), Dr Bin Shuai (Professor, School of Transportation and Logistics, Southwest Jiaotong University) and Dr Min-Hao Zhu (Professor, School of Materials Science and Engineering, Southwest Jiaotong University) from Southwest Jiaotong University, Dr Peng Yan (Deputy Chief Engineer) from Sichuan Southwest Jiaotong University Railway Development Co., Ltd., Dr Fu-Zhai Hao (Deputy Director) and Dr Guang-Hui Cheng (senior engineer) from PolyU-CSRD Joint Innovation Center for Rail Transit Safety Technology, Dr Chui-Zhou Lin (Honorary Professor, Senior Advisor to the Rector of Baptist University) visited CNERC-Rail and research facilities in Industrial Centre at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University on 30 March 2023. Firstly, Prof Yi-Qing Ni (Chair Professor), Dr You-Wu Wang (Research Assistant Professor), Dr Wai-Kei Ao (Research Assistant Professor), Dr Zheng-Wei Chen (Research Assistant Professor), Dr E Deng, Dr Wen-Qiang Liu, Dr Duo Zhang, Mr Da-Zhi Dang, Mr Yang Lu, Mr Qi-Fan Zhou accompanied Southwest Jiaotong University team to visit platform for electromagnet-rail coupling vibration testing of maglev. Then, the members of the CNERC-Rail Centre also accompanied Southwest Jiaotong University team to visit CNERC-Rail IC Corner, and the members of the CNERC-Rail Centre introduced the latest research and achievements of the CNERC-Rail Center.

Beijing Champrise Time Tech-Developement Limited visits CNERC-Rail Centre

Mr Qing-Jun Zhu (General Manager, Beijing Champrise Time Tech-Developement Limited) visited CNERC-Rail and research facilities in Industrial Centre at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University on 28 March 2023. Prof Yi-Qing Ni (Chair Professor), Dr Wai-Kei Ao (Research Assistant Professor), Dr Hong-Wei Li (Postdoctoral Fellow), Dr Zi-Yu Tao (Postdoctoral Fellow), Dr Duo Zhang (Postdoctoral Fellow) ，Dr Wei Liu (Postdoctoral Fellow)，Dr Yuan-Peng He (Postdoctoral Fellow)，Mr Han-Zhang LU accompanied Mr Qing-Jun Zhu to visit CNERC-Rail IC Corner. Prof Kun Zhang (Director of Management Committee of Wuyi University), Mr Ai-Kang Li (Deputy Director of Management Committee of Wuyi University), Mr Bao-Lin Deng (Leader of School of Political Science and Law) from Wuyi University and Prof Hao-Zhong Xin from College of Fashion and Textiles, Hong Kong Polytechnic University visited CNERC-Rail and research facilities in Industrial Centre at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University on 21 March 2023. Firstly, Dr Su-Mei Wang (Research Assistant Professor), Dr Zheng-Wei Chen (Research Assistant Professor), Dr E Deng, Mr Zhan-Hao Guo, Mr Zheng-Xin Che, Mr Yang Lu, Mr Zhen-Bin Zhou, and Mr Guang-Zhi Zeng accompanied Dr Kun Zhang, Mr Ai-Kang Li, Mr Bao-Lin Deng and Prof Hao-Zhong Xin to visit platform for electromagnet-rail coupling vibration testing of maglev. Changchun Railway Vehicles Co., Ltd. (CRRC) visits CNERC-Rail Centre

Mr Xue-Xin Li (Site Manager, After sale Department International Business Division) and Mr Tie-Zhu Wang (Assistant) from the CRRC visited CNERC-Rail and research facilities in Industrial Centre at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University on 14 March 2023. Prof Yi-Qing Ni (Chair Professor), Dr Su-Mei Wang (Research Assistant Professor), Dr Wai-Kei Ao (Research Assistant Professor), Dr You-Wu Wang (Research Assistant Professor), Dr Zheng-Wei Chen (Research Assistant Professor), Dr E Deng accompanied Mr Xue-Xin Li and Mr Tie-Zhu Wang to visit CNERC-Rail IC Corner. Shenzhen Academy of Disaster Prevention and Reduction (ADPR) visits CNERC-Rail Centre

Mr Jian-Tao Huang (Senior engineer (full researcher level), Dean), Dr Li-Xin Wang (Senior engineer (full researcher level), Assistant Dean), Dr Jian-Fu Lin (Associate Research Fellow, Deputy Director of Research Center) from the ADPR visited CNERC-Rail and research facilities in Industrial Centre at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University on 9 March 2023.  Prof Yi-Qing Ni (Chair Professor), Prof You Dong (Associate professor), Dr Wai-Kei Ao (Research Assistant Professor), Dr You-Wu Wang (Research Assistant Professor), Dr Zheng-Wei Chen (Research Assistant Professor), Dr E Deng, Dr Hong-Wei Li, Dr Su-Dao He, Dr Zi-Yu Tao, Dr Duo Zhang, Dr Chang-Chang Wang and Dr Wei Liu warmly welcomed Mr Jian-Tao Huang, Dr Li-Xin Wang and Dr Jian-Fu Lin. Firstly, the members of the ADPR and CNERC-Rail Centre held an academic discussion. The ADPR members had great interest in the latest research of the CNERC-Rail and hoped to develop in-depth exchanges and cooperation. After heated discussion, Dr Wen-Qiang Liu, Dr Hong-Wei Li, Dr E Deng, Dr You-Wu Wang, Mr Bo-Yang Su, Mr Da-Zhi Dang, Mr Chi-Shing Liu, Mr Tai-Tung Wai, Mr Yang Lu and Mr Zhen Lin accompanied the ADPR team to visit CNERC-Rail IC Corner, which included the main research focuses and corresponding research facilities and achievements.

Vice president of PolyU visits the Joint Innovation Center for Rail Transit Safety Monitoring Technology

On 2 March 2023 morning, Professor Christopher Chao, vice-president (Research and Innovation) of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), led a delegation to visit the Joint Innovation Center for Rail Transit Safety Monitoring Technology. This joint center is established by the PolyU Base (Shenzhen) Limited, and the China Southwest Jiaotong University Railway Development Co., Ltd (CSRD). Members of the center, including Dr. You-wu Wang, Mr. Xin Ye, Mr. Xiang-xiong Li, and Mr. Guang Zhou, briefed Professor Chao ongoing research projects carried out by the center and the use of equipment in the laboratory.

Visit to SHENZHEN ACADEMY of DISASTER PREVENTION and REDUCTION, and ZHONGZHEN HUACHAUNG (SHENZHEN) TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD

On 2 March 2023 afternoon, members of the center, Dr. You-wu Wang, Mr. Xin Ye, and Mr. Xiang-xiong Li visited the Shenzhen Academy of Disaster Prevention and Reduction, and Zhongzhen Huachuang (Shenzhen) Technology Co., Ltd. Dr. Jian-fu Lin, manager of the company, showed the delegation the advanced sensors and monitoring systems providing early warning to earthquake and other disasters. Both parties then exchanged views on further cooperation.

CNERC-Rail Invitation lectures given by Prof. Hai Guo and Prof. Alessandro Stocchino

On 16 February 2023, CNERC-Rail invited Prof. Hai Guo and Prof. Alessandro Stocchino to deliver lectures on Collaboration Research Fund (CRF) projects. Prof. Hai Guo gave an academic seminar entitled “Is the Usual Social Distance Sufficient to Avoid Airborne Infection of Expiratory Droplets in Indoor Environments”. Prof. Alessandro Stocchino gave an academic seminar on Hong Kong coastal HF-radar network. Members of the CNERC-Rail have discussed with two professors on possible future collaborations.
