On September 18, 2026, a delegation from Gongshu District Government, Hangzhou, visited CNERC-Rail (HK Branch) for an exchange. The visit aimed to further strengthen exchanges between Gongshu District and PolyU. The delegation was led by Mr. Jian-Li Shen, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Gongshu District Committee and Head of the United Front Work Department, and included representatives from the United Front Work Department of the CPC Gongshu District Committee, the Science, Technology, Economy and Information Technology Bureau of Gongshu District, the Education Bureau of Gongshu District, and the Hangzhou Grand Canal Digital Intelligence Future City Administrative Committee.
During the visit, Prof. Yi-Qing Ni, Director of CNERC-Rail (HK Branch) and Chair Professor of Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of PolyU, led the delegation on a tour of CNERC-Rail (HK Branch) laboratories and introduced the Center's research activities and achievements in advanced sensing, smart materials, data processing, and rail transit technologies. Prof. Ni also presented the latest progress of HZRI and exchanged views with the delegation on its research platforms, technology transfer activities, and related work.
