On September 18, 2026, Dr Vincent Wai Kei Ao, Dr Xiao Wang and Dr Xian-Hua Yao, Mr. Jia-Hao Lu, and Mr. Hao-Yun Chen from CNERC-Rail (HK Branch) held a project workshop to discuss the lightweight composite metro roof design competition, the development of an intelligent simulation platform, and future international collaboration.
During the meeting, the team reviewed and unified the project's overall technical roadmap, establishing a comprehensive framework comprising full-vehicle modeling, local roof analysis, and Double-Double composite optimization. Discussions focused on roof modeling, loading conditions, boundary conditions, surrogate modeling, and AI-assisted design and optimization. The team also exchanged ideas on the human-computer interaction, 3D visualization, and engineering applications of the FEAGPT platform. In addition, preparations were made for next week's technical collaboration with Prof Tsai's team on the Double-Double design methodology.
