On September 15, 2026, Prof. Yi-Qing Ni, Director of CNERC-Rail (HK Branch), and Dr. Wen-Qiang Liu went to Shenzhen University to attend the first working meeting on the compilation of the IEEE P3954 standard for terminology of EMS-type maglev vehicles. This working meeting was co-hosted by CNERC-Rail (HK Branch) and Shenzhen University. At the meeting, they joined experts from several participating organizations, including CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive, Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, Tongji University, Southwest Jiaotong University, Beijing Jiaotong University, and Shanghai Shentong Metro Group Co., Ltd, to conduct detailed discussions on the scope of key terms and specific objects of the standard, and reached a unified opinion on the expression and use of proper English grammar. Further supplementation and improvement will be carried out based on the opinions and plans formed at the meeting. It was also preliminarily determined that the second standard compilation working meeting will be held by Zhejiang University in Hangzhou in January 2027.
