ARCH Student Wins Second Prize at Saint-Gobain Architecture Student Contest 2026

24 Aug 2026

The Department of Architecture (ARCH) is delighted to congratulate Zheng Yanxi, a Year 2 student of the BSc (Hons) in Architectural Studies programme, on receiving the Second Prize at the Saint-Gobain Architecture Student Contest 2026 – Hong Kong Region National Stage, held on 8 May 2026.

The Saint-Gobain Architecture Student Contest is an international competition that provides architecture, design and civil engineering students with opportunities to address real-world design challenges through innovative, sustainable proposals. The 2026 edition focused on a site in Belgrade, Serbia, asking participants to integrate new construction with the renovation of the existing Academic Yachting Club.

The Hong Kong Stage brought together nine university teams from Hong Kong and Macau, who presented creative proposals for the redevelopment of a recreational area in Belgrade. Yanxi’s achievement reflects strong design thinking, creativity and a commitment to exploring sustainable approaches to architecture.

Congratulations again to Yanxi on this notable achievement! The Department is proud of your dedication and looks forward to seeing your continued growth and contributions to the architectural profession.
