Establishment of Department of Architecture

Established on 1 July 2026, the Department of Architecture (ARCH) is a dynamic hub for architectural innovation, dedicated to advancing architectural knowledge through interdisciplinary teaching and research. Leveraging PolyU and the Faculty’s international standing in architecture and built technologies, the department aims to lead the trend in artificial intelligence (AI)-enhanced and big data-driven architectural education and research. Our department provides comprehensive education across areas, including architectural and urban design, history and architectural heritage, architectural and building technologies, urban analytics, and smart cities.

Our mission

Our mission is to bring innovative solutions to architecture and spatial matters through research, and nurture students to become future leaders and architects, working with architectural and allied professions, and enhancing international standings through our educational programmes.
