My Journey in Architectural Studies

“Studying Architectural Studies at PolyU gives me precious opportunities to take part in real‑world large‑scale projects in Hong Kong and internationally. I get to learn directly from diverse industry professionals while gaining practical insights from real‑world practices. Our design practice ranges from small‑scale creations like chair design to larger‑scale pavilion projects. Supported by the department’s great platforms for studio work, not only did I sharpen my design skills, but I have also broadened my global perspective. This programme shapes my understanding of architecture as a bridge connecting art, technology, and daily life, which fuels my passion for future design exploration, and strengthened my clarity regarding my future development within the architecture industry.”

Learning Architecture Through Experience

“My journey in Architectural Studies at PolyU has been both inspiring and hands-on. Beyond the classroom, PolyU provided me with valuable opportunities to visit design studios and factories in Mainland China, where I gained insight into real-world architectural processes and production techniques. These experiences deepened my understanding of materiality and construction. I also developed practical skills in model-making through projects such as designing a pavilion and a chair, exploring both spatial concepts and human-centered design. Working closely with my groupmates taught me how to communicate ideas effectively, balance perspectives, and collaborate under pressure. These enriching experiences strengthened my passion for architecture.”
