Our guest speaker, Dr Cheung Yuen Man, a PolyU Language Instructor, alumna and writer, will share her journey as an author, the inspiration behind her works, and how reading shapes creativity, progress and growth. She will offer practical tips on sustaining reading habits in a busy lifestyle and selecting books that truly resonate, and introduce a few recommended reading materials to enrich your experience.

Dr Cheung is an award-winning author and her works include novel collections Farewell and Together (2025), Those were the Cats (2019), Dust Memoirs (2017) and Sweet Honey (2004); essay collections Uneven Ends (2022) and You Are Here - Stories of Campus Cats (2020). She won awards such as Recommendation Award of the Chinese Literature Biennial Award, the Jury Prize of the Times Literary Awards and the First Prize of the Joint Literary New Talent Award.
