Angus received his bachelor degree in physiotherapy at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and master of physiotherapy degree (musculoskeletal physiotherapy) at the University of Melbourne in Australia. He received a full studentship from the National Institute for Health Research of the National Health Services of the United Kingdom for his postgraduate studies in health services research for physical rehabilitation after stroke at the University of Sheffield in England.

He gained solid rehabilitation experience in different settings in Hong Kong, the mainland China, Australia and England. He was the clinical coordinator for the Master in Physical Therapy (China) programme of PolyU to coordinate clinical education activities within the mainland China. He was the team leader who established and managed the community-based rehabilitation resources centre for earthquake zones in Sichuan after the Wenchuan earthquake occurred in the mainland China.

Angus is an international committee member and classifier for wheelchair fencing. He served as an official classifier for wheelchair fencing in international sports events including the 2014 Para-Asian Games and 2013 Wheelchair Fencing World Championships. He is a member of volunteer medical team of Hong Kong Paralympic Committee & Sports Association for the Physically Disabled and a member Disaster Rehabilitation Committee of the International Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine. He was awarded with the Investigator Award from the European Stroke Research Foundation.
