李乐真博士先后在香港大学完成运动科学及康体管理学士、公共健康研究硕士和社会工作及社会行政博士学位。
李博士是研究体育活动行为的学者。在过去十年间，她一直与医疗及社会科学学者和业界人士共事，他们对体育活动行为有着共同的研究兴趣。另外，李博士也有八年高等教育教学经验。
她的主要研究兴趣集中在环境和体育活动行为上。具体来说，她有兴趣探索公园的户外运动设施如何协助长者维持经常运动的健康生活方式，长者又如何利用视频会议技术在家中制造虚拟环境来进行体育锻炼，以及东方的身心运动如何影响身体的内在环境以致锻炼者的生理、心理和灵性状态。
她擅长的研究方法主要有参与式研究、混合方法研究、定性研究和综合系统性回顾。
