Jie Ma (she/her) is a researcher exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence, culture, and design. She previously worked as an algorithm engineer at Huawei, focusing on generative AI systems such as variational autoencoders, diffusion models, and multimodal learning. With a background in mathematics and data science, her current work investigates how AI can be understood and shaped through cultural and design perspectives. She is particularly interested in human–AI interaction, affective computing, and the social implications of generative technologies.
