Abstract

This chapter introduces the use of corpora in translation and interpreting studies, emphasizing their value as empirical resources and methodological tools. It examines key research trends, including the search for translation universals and related topics. In addition, it discusses how technological advancements shape existing methodological approaches by automating key steps in corpus composition and the extraction of linguistic features. This chapter also presents future research trends by showing its increasingly interdisciplinary nature and an emerging trend to examine the cognitive aspects of translation and interpreting using corpus-based methods.
