Abstract The study of lexical features in translation and interpreting primarily focuses on identifying and analyzing the distinctive patterns of word usage in translation and interpreting compared to other language varieties, or demonstrates the distinct style of individual translators or interpreters. This article discusses several typical lexical features emerging through the analysis of individual words, keywords, lexical bundles, the distribution of word classes, and measures of lexical richness. Findings reveal more explicit expressions, simpler vocabulary, and more predictable lexical choices in translational language varieties. |
