Abstract Artificial intelligence (AI) has become a pivotal force in the digital era, influencing various facets of human life. The capability of generative AI, such as ChatGPT to produce coherent texts, sparking widespread interest among academics and education. Particularly for students in journalism and related fields, who are poised to create or edit news content in their future careers, it is crucial to grasp how AI can be utilized to improve writing skills. This study aims to explore the subtleties of AIGC in comparison with human-written material under identical headlines and to examine AIGC tailored for diverse audiences. By identifying potential patterns or characteristics of AIGC, the research aims to provide a clearer understanding of the synergistic roles of AI and human creativity in journalistic practices and seeks to equip students with insights into how and to what extent AIGC can be effectively merged with human-generated content (HGC). |
