In October, 2 new workshops cover fundamental on Grafana and Basic R will be organized for PolyU researchers to build awareness on open software tools that help to manage and present research data and findings.

Dashboard Tools – Grafana

The Grafana dashboard allows PolyU research students to query, visualize and explore data stored on multiple different repositories. It provides functions to turn time-series data into graphics for visualization. A workshop on Grafana will be held with details as below:

Basic R

R is a programming language and environment for statistical computing and graphics. This course introduces R for beginners and prepares those attended for Intermediate R.

Basic R workshop covers all fundamental R knowledge, such as data types, basic string operations, basic operators, data structure, functions and etc. Data pre-processing topics such as data cleaning, data integration and data transformation are also introduced. Data visualization with ggplot2 can greatly improve impression of presentation.
