As communicated before, mySurvey 2.0 has been rolled out and mySurvey 1.0 will retire on 31 December 2021. Users of mySurvey 1.0 may wish to back up the surveys for re-use to collect data for course assignments or research projects in mySurvey 2.0, here comes the practical tips for fulfilling this mission.

Backup survey(s)

  1. After login your account in mySurvey 1.0, choose the target survey(s) in the 'Survey list'.
  2. Click 'Selected survey(s)' in the bottom left-hand corner and select 'Survey structure (.lss)' to export the survey(s).

  3. There will be a pop-up if you are selecting more than one survey to export, just click ‘Yes’ to continue.

  4. Click ‘Download archive’ to choose the destination you want to save the file(s).

Restore individual survey from backup

After backup all the surveys in mySurvey 1.0, users can restore these eforms in mySurvey 2.0. Follow the simple steps below to bring them back in mySurvey2.0:

  1. Login to mySurvey 2.0 and click ‘Create survey’.

  2. Under the ‘Create, import, or copy survey’ page, select ‘Import’ tab.

  3. Under the ‘Import’ tab, click ‘Choose File’ to select your backup file. Please note that you have to restore the survey one by one.

  4. Click ‘Import survey’ after selecting the target file.
  5. After a second, you will see the ‘Success’ page and you can click ‘Go to survey’ at the bottom to activate the survey or do the settings.
