Webinars for researchers in new semester and updates on mySystem service

The Pilot High Performance Computing (HPC) Platform allows PolyU research staff and students to test or develop their applications for research purpose. To get users familiar with the platform and introduce the features, a 2.5-hour online workshop on Pilot HPC Platform will be held in September for research staff and students with details as below:

 Course Outline: 
  • Introduction to Pilot HPC Platform
  • Basic theory of parallel computing
  • Basic operations of using HPC Platform
  • Parallel program solving numerical analysis problem in Python
 Medium of Instruction:  English
 Target Audience:  Research staff & students

In response to the increasing demand from researchers, online workshop on Python and Machine Learning are in plan. More details of the workshops will be shared in the next issue of ITS eNewsletter, stay tuned.



Phase-out mySystem service

The mySystem service has been supporting research staff and students over years to run, test or develop their application on virtual machine and it’s time to say goodbye. The service will be retired on 1 July 2021 and new application for the service will be suspended from now.

Current users can still use the service now but are reminded to back up necessary data on the platform before 30 June 2021.
