Biography
Ir Prof. HO Wing Ip is currently serving EEE, PolyU as adjunct professor. He is a seasoned electrical and building services engineer with decades of professional experience in both public service and community development. He holds a Higher Certificate in Electrical Engineering (Distinction) from The Hong Kong Polytechnic and a Master's degree from The University of Hong Kong. He is a Fellow Member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE), a Chartered Engineer, and a Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) with leading roles in numerous impactful symposium.
Professor HO previously held a senior government position as a Directorate Officer, where he contributed significantly to housing development, energy saving and engineering policy. Following his retirement from public service, he has remained active in community, medical and educational initiatives. He has been the Supervisor of Evangel College and is currently serving as the Chairman of the Evangel Hospital.
Professor HO has also been a visible public figure in the field of engineering. He has participated in numerous media interviews, both as a spokesperson for the Electrical Division of the HKIE and in his personal capacity, offering expert commentary and analysis on engineering issues that are closely tied to public life and societal well-being.
Professor HO is a member of the Steering Committee on Review of CLP’s Power Supply System of the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department of the HK SAR Government.
As the author of two popular books, Professor HO is also well known of his multi-talent crossing engineering and Chinese literature.
