On the afternoon of 4 August 2026, the National Rail Transit Electrification and Automation Engineering Technology Research Centre (Hong Kong Branch) (CNERC-Rail) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University held an academic seminar at PolyU Z504. Prof. Feng Wang is currently Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at Jiangsu University, Deputy Director of the Jiangsu Provincial Research Centre for Electric Drive Systems and Intelligent Control, and Director of the Modern Vehicle Dynamics Centre. His research interests include electric drives for new energy vehicles, eco-energy saving for connected vehicles, multimodal vehicle technologies, and next-generation chassis configurations. Prof. Wang was invited to deliver a seminar entitled “Energy Saving and Dynamic Quality Regulation of Road Electric Carrier Equipment Powertrain”.
During the seminar, Prof. Wang introduced the latest developments in the electrification and intelligentisation of road transport equipment. Driven by global dual-carbon goals and the strategy of building a strong transportation network, road transport equipment is rapidly transforming towards greener, more efficient, and more intelligent systems. The seminar focused on key issues related to intelligent energy management, dynamic quality regulation, and operational safety in multi-mode, multi-motor electric drive systems, while also presenting the latest research progress achieved by his team.
Prof. Wang further discussed energy optimisation in electric drive systems, coordinated control of vehicle dynamic performance, and next-generation chassis configurations, highlighting the potential applications of these technologies in new energy vehicles, connected vehicles, and future road electric carrier equipment.
