On October 5, 2026, Dr. E Deng, Dr. Di Wen, Mr. Huan Yue and Mr. Gang Zeng from CNERC-Rail (HK Branch) met with Prof. Bin Xiao, Mr. Xi-Xi Zheng and Mr. Xing-Long Wei from Department of Computing of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The meeting focused on upgrading the Hong Kong meteorological large model. Mr. Huan Yue presented the latest progress in the meteorological platform and the global-to-Hong Kong downscaling model. Following the discussion, both teams defined the priorities for the next phase of work, including further training and fine-tuning of the downscaling model, as well as upgrading the meteorological platform and enhancing its user interface and visual design.
