From September 29 to 30, 2026, Prof. Yi-Qing Ni, Director of CNERC-Rail (HK Branch), attended the Chinese Academy of Engineering’s Academic Conference on Engineering Science and Technology & the 9th Forum on Innovation in Building Science and Engineering in Changsha, Hunan. Prof. Ni delivered an invited speech titled “气候变化背景下沿海城市台风风险实时预警与智能减灾：城市尺度到建筑群”.
The keynote addressed typhoon-related risks to coastal cities under climate change, covering global-scale climate evolution, urban-scale wind field observation and simulation, wind fields and structural response monitoring and simulation at the building-cluster scale, as well as predictive models and intelligent disaster mitigation systems. The presentation offered insights into enhancing urban resilience and disaster mitigation capabilities against typhoon risks.
