On 24 June 2026, representatives from the Land Transport Authority (LTA) of Singapore, the Singapore Rail Research Centre (SRRC), and Jabez Technologies visited the National Rail Transit Electrification and Automation Engineering Technology Research Center (Hong Kong Branch), CNERC-Rail, at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University for a laboratory visit and exchange activity. The visitors included Zailani Bin Mohamed Idris, Low Kai Li, Edmund Teo Jin Rong, Peng Tong Yan Nigel, Gnanaiah Chandrasekaran, Hu Liangliang, Wilson Ho, Max Yiu, Ian Lai, and Utban Ahmed.
During the visit, the delegation toured the Centre's laboratories and research platforms. Dr Vincent Wai Kei Ao introduced CNERC-Rail's research progress and application outcomes in rail transit electrification and automation, intelligent monitoring, engineering safety, and advanced inspection technologies. The two sides also exchanged views on rail transit system safety, intelligent operation and maintenance, inspection and monitoring technologies, and potential future collaboration.
This laboratory visit and exchange enhanced the visitors' understanding of CNERC-Rail's research platforms and technological capabilities, and laid a solid foundation for further technical exchange and collaboration in the field of rail transit.
