On 10 June 2026, a delegation from the Taizhou Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Zhejiang Province, visited the National Rail Transit Electrification and Automation Engineering Technology Research Center Hong Kong Branch (CNERC-Rail HK Branch) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The delegation comprised Mr. Hong-Liang Zhan, Member of the National Committee of the CPPCC; Mr. Wei-Lun Miao, Chairman of the Taizhou Municipal Committee of the CPPCC; Mr. Wen-Ming Jin, Secretary-General of the Taizhou Municipal Committee of the CPPCC; Ms. Hong-Ju Lu, Chairwoman of the Luqiao District Committee of the CPPCC; as well as Mr. Jian-Gang Lin, Mr. Zhen-Jian Ying, Mr. Hong-Feng Huang, and Mr. Guo-Zhang He.
During the visit, Dr. Vincent Wai Kei Ao, Dr. Zi-Dong Xu, and Dr. Fei-Fei Ren welcomed the delegation on behalf of the Centre and provided an overview of PolyU, CNERC-Rail, and the Centre's recent research developments. The delegation subsequently toured the University's research facilities and campus, gaining deeper insights into PolyU's research platforms and innovation outcomes.
The visit enhanced mutual understanding and established a foundation for future regional scientific and technological exchange and collaboration.
