On December 13–14, 2025, to deepen industry–academia–research integration and promote the commercialization of research outcomes, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, in collaboration with the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Fujian Province, held a two-day “PolyU Technology Transfer Conference & Inaugural Annual Symposium of the Technology Innovation Institute” in Jinjiang, Fujian.
A highlight of the showcase was the Foamed-Concrete Metamaterial Near-Track Sound Barrier, a core product developed under the RAISe+ Scheme of Hong Kong’s Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC). The project, led by Prof. Yi-Qing Ni, our Centrr Director, was presented alongside its incubated spin-off company, Meta-Noise Technology Co., Ltd. Our center members, Dr. Si-Qi Ding and Dr. Xiao Wang, were on-site to engage with attendees. They delivered comprehensive presentations on the technology’s innovative principles, key performance advantages, real-world applications, and commercial potential. The exhibit garnered significant interest and received enthusiastic feedback from industry experts, investors, and government officials.
