Mr Paul Chow Man Yiu

Mr Paul Chow is Chief Executive of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) and a leading figure in the financial industry. He took up his current role in May 2003, and has been instrumental in reinforcing Hong Kong’s position as an international financial centre through an unwavering commitment to quality, integrity and transparency. On the global front, Mr Chow is a Director of the Board of the World Federation of Exchanges and was recently appointed Chairman of its Working Committee.

The depth of business and management experience Mr Chow has accumulated over the decades in a variety of industries, such as information technology, securities, banking and fund management, has contributed greatly to enhancing the local financial market infrastructure and to meeting the interests of HKEx’s diverse stakeholders, including investors, market intermediaries, listed issuers and the public.

Despite his busy schedule, Mr Chow is an active supporter of higher education in the city and of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. As Chair of our Faculty of Business Advisory Committee since 2004, he has contributed immeasurably to building rewarding ties between the University and the business community. He continues to inspire and motivate many through his accomplishments and enthusiasm in nurturing the next generation of leaders.

Among Mr Chow’s many other contributions to the community and public service are his role as a Member of the Council and Court of The University of Hong Kong, the Digital 21 Strategy Advisory Committee of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and the Standing Committee on Company Law Reform. He is also a Director of The Community Chest of Hong Kong and a Member of its Executive Committee. In 2003, Mr Chow was awarded a Silver Bauhinia Star by the HKSAR Government in recognition of his valuable contributions.
