The Hong Kong Polytechnic University's School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM) celebrated a major milestone at the IMPACT2025 Conference Gala Dinner, held on 9 December 2025 at Hotel ICON. In a room filled with industry leaders, global scholars and innovators shaping the future of hospitality, the SHTM proudly unveiled the inaugural SHTM IMPACT Award 2025 for Service Excellence – Hotel Industry.
PolyU and the WTTC Unveil Global Study on the Future of Work in Travel and Tourism

Already supporting 350 million jobs in 2024, the travel and tourism sector is set to create 91 million more by 2035. Professor Faye Hao presented a co-authored paper entitled "Beyond Traditional Paradigms: Avatar-Led Cross-Cultural Training Development in Hospitality Industry" and chaired a parallel session on "Digital Technologies" at the Mediterranean Tourism Knowledge Exchange and Policy Conference in Malta on 26–27 November 2025.
