陈璐华博士在香港攻读研究生课程之前,曾在中山大学附属医院接受临床培训并执业。她过往的临床培训经验激發了她对神经精神障碍性疾病研究(从早期神经發育到晚期神经退行性变等)的兴趣和热情。在香港大学李嘉诚医学院取得博士学位以后,她分别在香港大学和香港中文大学的心理学系接受了临床神经科学的博士后培训。

目前,陈博士的研究兴趣旨在了解遗传风险因素、环境风险因素和遗传-环境相互作用如何导致神经精神疾病和相关行为/特徵的發生、發展和/或恶化。她使用系统科学的方法,再结合先进的跨学科分析手段,将多层次的信息和多学科的理论有机结合起来,以促进我们对人脑认知功能的理解。此外,她的研究兴趣还包括鉴别认知功能的临床表型以进行早期疾病诊断,并揭示社会和文化相关的风险因素。她的最终研究目标是将研究成果转化为早期临床干预措施,以帮助认知功能受损的患者。
