To celebrate the 90th Anniversary of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, we proudly launch the landmark 90 Scholars for the 90th Anniversary Strategic Hiring Scheme. This prestigious initiative is designed to attract exceptional scholars across transformative, frontier defining fields: artificial intelligence and related areas, robotics and embedded intelligence, microelectronics, aerospace technology, advanced manufacturing, life sciences, materials science, new energy, and architecture and urban sustainability. Applicants in other areas of strategic importance to the University are also most welcome. By recruiting 90 distinguished academics and rising young leaders, we aim to strengthen interdisciplinary research capacity, accelerate fundamental breakthroughs, and shape the future of global scientific and technological progress.

Rooted in 90 years of heritage and intellectual achievement, the program embodies PolyU’s dedication to pushing the frontiers of knowledge, fostering academic leadership, and addressing grand challenges facing humanity. This initiative will be implemented as part of the University’s well established Strategic Hiring Scheme. All faculty members recruited through the Strategic Hiring Scheme will receive a start-up grant of no less than HKD 3 million. Outstanding young scholars under the age of 45 will be awarded the title “Presidential Young Scholar” and receive a start-up grant of no less than HKD 4 million.
