Vinas-Guasch博士在英国威尔士的班格尔大学获得了认知科学和神经语言学的硕士和博士学位。在加入香港理工大学的康复治疗科学系之前,他曾在香港大学的脑与认知科学国家重点实验室、精神医学系以及香港教育大学的幼儿教育学系担任博士后研究员。随后,他成为新加坡国立大学临床脑实验室的一名研究员。

Vinas-Guasch博士有多元化的研究背景,他曾参与的研究范畴包括语言习得、神经认知障碍的临床表现(如精神分裂症和中风)、小脑对认知的贡献,以及神经影像学中的大脑自动划分方法。他更利用功能性磁力共振造影(fMRI),以研究人类在阅读时整合视听的功能网络,亦分析了亚皮质区域在高级认知中的参与情况,并最近进行了fMRI引导的TMS研究,以确定大脑-小脑回路在工作记忆中的活动情况。Vinas-Guasch博士目前正研究自动化的本地个体划分方法在影像数据分析,以及认知损伤中的小脑前向模型的适用性。

Vinas-Guasch博士的研究最终目标是应用其对干预措施的研究及理论,以帮助神经和精神残疾患者。
