Keynote Speaker

Prof. Jae Bum Kim is a Professor of Biological Sciences at Seoul National University and Director of the Center for Adipocyte Structure and Function under Korea’s National Leader Research Initiatives. He earned his BSc and MSc from Seoul National University and completed his PhD at Harvard University, where he identified the key lipogenic transcription factor ADD1/SREBP1c under Dr Bruce Spiegelman. He later conducted postdoctoral research with Nobel Laureate Dr Phillip Sharp at MIT. Since joining Seoul National University in 2000, Prof. Kim has focused on gene regulation and signal transduction in lipid and glucose metabolism, with recent work exploring adipose tissue heterogeneity, immune responses, and insulin resistance — contributing valuable insights into obesity and metabolic disorders.
