Abstract:
The International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) model offers a comprehensive framework for understanding and addressing the complex interplay between health conditions and contextual factors, including the inter-professional aspects of healthcare collaboration.

This seminar introduce the key principles of the ICF model and explores the integration of the ICF model into teaching curricula and clinical practices, highlighting its potential to improve educational outcomes, students’ competency and patient care through collaborative efforts among healthcare professionals. Clinically, the model promotes a client-centered approach, encouraging inter-professional practitioners to consider all factors affecting health and well-being. We will discuss practical strategies for embedding the ICF model into educational programs and local clinical practice, share insights from inter-professional implementations and outline the benefits of adopting this model for both learners and healthcare providers. Attendees will gain valuable perspectives on how the ICF model can transform teaching and practice through

inter-professional collaboration, ultimately leading to improved health outcomes and more inclusive care.
