The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) proudly showcased its innovative AkkMore low-fat ice cream at the 6th French Science Festival 2026, co-organised by the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau and the Hong Kong Science Museum. Featured as a highlight at the Festival's Opening Ceremony on 3 October, AkkMore demonstrated PolyU's strengths in food innovation and research translation.
During the tasting session, more than 200 participants sampled AkkMore as an example of PolyU's research-driven food innovation. Developed with natural mushroom-derived prebiotics and an innovative cream alternative, AkkMore offers the rich flavour and creamy texture consumers enjoy while supporting healthier and more sustainable food choices.
Under the theme “Tasty Science”, the Festival invites the public to explore the close connections between science, culinary innovation, sustainable food systems, and health, highlighting how research can support healthier lifestyles and a more sustainable future.
The Festival runs from 1 to 12 October at the Hong Kong Science Museum. We warmly welcome the public to visit the Festival and experience how science and food innovation can come together to create a healthier and more sustainable future.
