香港理工大學(理大)一直致力推動醫療創新及跨學科研究,尤其在醫學、健康及人工智能賦能醫療技術創新等前沿領域取得突破,把科研成果轉化為具影響力的解決方案。理大在最新一輪醫療衞生研究基金撥款中,有25個研究項目獲得支持,總資助金額達2,291萬港元。項目涵蓋人工智能賦能醫學、基層醫療、精準醫療和預防醫學等,充分展現理大在醫療健康領域的跨學科研究實力。
理大獲資助的研究項目涉及先進診斷技術、復康訓練和管理、創新心理健康治療方案,以及照顧者支援和以社區為本的護理模式等不同範疇,涵蓋生物醫學工程、醫療科技及資訊、護理學、眼科視光學、康復治療科學、語言科學及技術及食品科學及營養等學科。
理大學者致力將先進科技應用於醫療創新,包括利用人工智能進行單細胞監測,以早期偵測感染相關的血栓;引入沉浸式虛擬實境技術,為患有輕度認知障礙症的長者進行認知刺激治療;以及開發流動健康平台,以支援產後抑鬱及兒科病症管理等。
理大多個研究項目亦聚焦於轉化醫學應用,包括用於評估肝癌放射治療的磁力共振指紋技術(Time-resolved MRF);針對源自塵蟎且在人類微生物群中發現的新型巴通體細菌(Bartonella bacterium)進行多組學分析;以及針對急性泌尿系統毒性反應的個人化預測等。此外,多個獲資助項目亦專注慢性疾病管理與復健治療,例如為中風後疲勞、膝關節炎及上肢運動功能恢復等提供介入方案。

醫療衞生研究基金由醫務衞生局管理,旨在建立科研能力,鼓勵、促進和支援醫療衞生研究,透過建構並應用從本地醫療衞生研究所得、以實證為本的科學知識,協助制訂醫療政策、改善市民健康、強化醫療系統、改進醫療實務、提升醫療護理水平及質素,以及推動在臨床醫療服務方面取得卓越成就。
