Dear All,

The extraction, transportation, manufacturing and use of products not only pollute the environment, but also generate a huge amount of carbon dioxide. To respond to the pressing climate change challenge, the Research Centre for Resources Engineering towards Carbon Neutrality (RCRE) is established in Oct 2021 at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). RCRE aspires to establish PolyU as a forefront global research centre in solid waste recycling issues to help reduce carbon dioxide emissions for achieving carbon neutrality. We are a multi-disciplinary team of researchers coming from different faculties of PolyU who are dedicated to finding solutions to reducing and recycling solid wastes. Our research directions range from waste management policy evaluation, life cycle environmental and cost assessments, and development of recycling technologies that turn wastes into value-added resources.

We welcome new members and collaborators. If you are interested in joining us or discussing with us about our developed recycling technologies, you are most welcome to contact us.

Prof. Chi Sun Poon
Director
