In recognition of their remarkable achievements in their professions and meaningful contributions to PolyU and wider society, four distinguished alumni have been honoured with the Outstanding PolyU Alumni Award 2025.

 

The recipients of this year’s Award are (listed in alphabetical order by surname):

 

  • Dr Steve Chuang Tzu-hsiung, JP, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, ProVista Group

  • Dr Elton Sun Wu, Vice President, Hyatt China, and Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, UrCove Hotels

  • Ir Tony Wong Chi-kwong, JP, Commissioner for Digital Policy, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) of the People’s Republic of China

  • Mr Eddie Wong Kwok-hing, CSDSM, Commissioner of Correctional Services, the Government of the HKSAR

The Award Selection Committee was chaired by Dr Lam Tai-fai, PolyU Council Chairman. Ex-officio members included Professor Jin-Guang Teng, President, and Professor Wing-tak Wong, Deputy President and Provost of PolyU. Other committee members included Mr Alex Wong Chun-bong, PolyU Council Member; Ir Arthur Lee Kam-hung, University Court Member; Mr Dennis Ho Chiu-ping, President of the Outstanding PolyU Alumni Association; and Ir Yau Kwok-fai, President of the Federation of PolyU Alumni Associations.

 

Established to honour distinguished graduates of PolyU and its predecessors – the Government Trade School, the Hong Kong Technical College, and the Hong Kong Polytechnic – the Award recognises individuals who have made significant contributions to their alma mater and have positively impacted the wider community. These outstanding recipients exemplify PolyU’s commitment to nurturing socially responsible leaders for Hong Kong, the Nation, and the world. Since its inception in 1996, the Award has been presented to a total of 113 alumni.
