Dr Ben YU is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Social Sciences at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He received his PhD in Psychology from The Chinese University of Hong Kong before joining PolyU.
 
His research focuses on three main areas. First, he is interested in Buddhist psychological constructs, such as mindfulness and interconnectedness, including how these concepts can be understood and how they relate to one another. Second, he studies the processes underlying stigma and how stigma affects socially minoritized groups, especially people with mental illness. Third, he explores how Buddhist psychological constructs can be applied to promote well-being and reduce stigma.
