Teaching & Learning Information Technology (TLIT) lab embraces technology to provide a rich collaborative learning experience for students. In the last two months, a number of training workshops on various topics such as Gamification, Mixed Reality, Animations and Video Editing for students have been conducted to enable students to leverage TLIT lab tools to enhance their storytelling and communication skills.

Applying Machine Learning Algorithms online course for students

Further to the Machine Learning Fundamentals course, a 15-hour online course focuses on applying Machine Learning algorithms to solve real life problems via data analytics will be available in November.

SCC - Enhanced environment for all students

With completion of phase 1 and 2 refurbishment works at Student Computer Centre (SCC) located at Lee Ka Shing Tower (Block M) 3/F & 4/F, the environment and the facilities have been greatly enhanced.

The IT Help Desk Service Chatbot has changed to a new look and to serve PolyU staff and students. ITS has adopted open sourced software Mycroft to provide web chat function and response to general enquiries and frequently asked topics on IT on 7 x 24 basis.

Webinars for researchers on Internet of Things

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a rapidly evolving and expanding collection of diverse devices and wearables that interact with the edge devices as well as Cloud applications. With IoTs data integration and growth in computing & storage capabilities on Cloud, the barriers to achieve real time monitoring and tracking on environment and activities become much lower. Real time data feed application for research data collection and anomaly detection can be achieved cost effectively.
