Summer Term extended classroom teaching delivery updates

Summer Term has begun and preparation has been made at AV IT facilities in GT/LT to ease teachers to conduct synchronous online teaching delivery while accommodate students who attend at classroom.
1 New desktop image with Multi-User Profile

Classroom and lecture theatre desktops have been refreshed with new Windows10 image and upgraded to run on solid-state disk storage. Classroom desktop Windows joined PolyU domain, instructors after login using own staff account, will be able to access own PolyU Home Drive (P:) and OneDrive for Business folder.
In addition to added shortcut to access Learn@PolyU via Chrome browser, MS Teams client and Zoom client software have already pre-installed.
2 Classroom audio and video ready for VC tool use

All GT/LT scheduled for summer term classes have either a camera or webcam ready for video conferencing (VC) tool use. All GT/LT audio systems have established a direct audio feed to the desktop for VC tool use as input. Desktop audio outputs also connect to classroom audio system. Instructors can use GT/LT’s microphone/speaker system to cover in-class attendants as well as remote students who attend via VC tool.
3 Visualizers are connected to classroom desktop

Instructors can open Visualizer software on desktop Window to share visualizer output. Desktop PC screen being selected as a source to classroom projector and shared to VC tool allow in-class attendants and remote students to view your writing on the visualizer.

Instructors who plan to bring their laptop for PPT presentation or application sharing, please connect your device to LAN cable, VGA/audio cable or HDMI interface cable on teaching lectern/teaching desk and select "Notebook" as source for output to projector. Instructors are also reminded to stay close to the notebook during class for better audio quality for remote students. VC tool will rely on your laptop webcam and microphone for visual and audio input.
