ISE student won the Bronze Award in HKEIA Innovation & Technology Project Competition
Mr. Chow Nok To, a fresh graduate of the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE), participated in the HKEIA Innovation & Technology Project Competition for Students of Electronic Engineering or Related Engineering Fields (2015), and was received the Bronze Award at the presentation ceremony on 23 November 2015.
The project competition, organized by The Hong Kong Electronic Industries Association (HKEIA), aimed at recognizing students completing outstanding projects which demonstrate excellence in technology and innovation.
Mr Chow, who had just completed a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Industrial and Systems Engineering Programme in the PolyU, won the award with the project entitled "Towards new possibilities in home intelligence", which was supervised by Dr. Velvet Chen. Moreover, laboratory officer Mr. Sam Lam also provided technical support to this project.
The project aims to explore new possibilities in home intelligence systems, and proposes a universal and effective user control method to enrich the degree of freedom in home intelligence applications. The methodology was verified by an unique testbed, integrating mobility with home appliances, in order to increase the diversity and capability of existing systems.
