Black kite

About the sharing

Black Kites are common birds of prey in Hong Kong, with almost 2000 wintering in this city every year. Why do Black Kites love to inhabit and breed in Hong Kong? This online sharing will allow you to better understand Black Kites by explaining their species and population in Hong Kong and the result of a series of surveys on their breeding behaviour. It will also introduce the work of the Kite Research Group of the Hong Kong Bird Watching Society.



Peter ChanAbout the speaker

Peter Chan 陳佳瑋

Peter Chan is the convener of the Kite Research Group of the Hong Kong Bird Watching Society and the instructor of the Raptor Identification Workshop. He has joined the Kite Research Group since 2008 and has been observing and recording Black Kites for more than 10 years. He also establishes a Facebook page named "My Black Kite Story" to share the observation results.
