Since 2013, the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer and the Equal Opportunities Commission have joined hands to organize an annual Web Accessibility Recognition Scheme to encourage local organizations to adopt accessibility design in their websites and mobile apps, recognize the efforts and accomplishments of organizations that have adopted accessibility design in their websites and mobile apps and provide advisory support to help participating organizations make their websites and mobile apps accessible.

The "Web Accessibility Recognition Scheme" 18/19 1st Award Presentation Ceremony was held on 26 June 2018 and presented Triple Gold Awards to organizations and enterprises with websites winning ‘Gold Award (Website Stream)’ for consecutively three years. PolyU also received one Mobile Friendly Award (Mobile App Stream) and its award-winning app is GreenMap@PolyU.
