Undergraduate Entry Scholarships
Faculty of Science Entry Scholarships for Outstanding Local Students
The Faculty of Science (FS) accords recognition to outstanding local students admitted to our Bachelor’s Degree Scheme via JUPAS. Awardees will be granted “FS Entry Scholarship for Local JUPAS Students” of various amounts.
How to apply for the Entry Scholarship?
There is no need for students to apply separately for the Entry Scholarships. The Faculty will identify outstanding admittees based on their HKDSE attainments and notify them of the award after the commencement of the academic year.
Who is eligible?
Current year Secondary Six local students taking the HKDSE at their first attempt who are admitted to our Bachelor’s Degree Scheme in Science (JS3008) via JUPAS and meet the University’s General Entrance Requirements will be considered for the Entry Scholarships.
Categories of Entry Scholarships
One-off entry scholarships from the Faculty will be awarded if the admittee fulfils the following requirements in either one category:
Category I – JUPAS entrants of Bachelor’s Degree Scheme in Science (JS3008) with certain HKDSE Scores

Category II – JUPAS entrants of Bachelor’s Degree Scheme in Science (JS3008) with Level 5** in one of the HKDSE Subjects2
JUPAS entrants who attained Level 5** in one or more HKDSE subject(s) will be awarded a one-off scholarship of HKD $20,000.
Notes:
Students who meet the requirements for both Categories I and II will receive the scholarship ONCE for whichever category of higher value, and capped at the maximum amount a student can receive per academic year as stipulated by the University's guidelines.
Remarks:
1 For the purpose of calculating the HKDSE score, HKDSE level attainments will be converted to scores where Level 5**=8.5, 5*=7, 5=5.5, 4=4, 3=3, 2=2, 1=1 and Unclassified=0. HKDSE Score is the sum of the scores of the best five subjects.
2 Mathematics Extended Part Module 1/2 will also be taken into consideration.
In addition to the FS Entry Scholarship for Local JUPAS Students, high-achieving students admitted to our scheme may also be eligible for scholarships administered by the University (please refer to Study@PolyU for eligibility). Students who fulfil the criteria for both University and Faculty scholarships will only receive the University scholarship unless otherwise stipulated.
