The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the State Key Laboratory of Cognitive Science and Mental Health (CSMH) to strengthen collaboration in psychology and neuroscience research. Jointly by PolyU’s Faculty of Health and Social Sciences (FHSS) and CSMH, the partnership aims to foster innovative interdisciplinary research by leveraging the complementary strengths of the two institutions.
The signing ceremony was held on 22 May 2026 at the Institute of Psychology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). The MoU was signed by Prof. Sylvia CHEN, Associate Dean of FHSS and Chair Professor of Social and Cultural Psychology at PolyU, and Prof. Yi JIANG, Director of CSMH and Director of the Institute of Psychology, CAS. The ceremony was witnessed by Prof. Richard LI, Assistant Professor of the Department of Applied Social Sciences and the Department of Computing at PolyU, and Prof. Yongjuan LI, Professor and Director of the Division of Social and Engineering Psychology at the Institute of Psychology, CAS.
At the discussion session, representatives from both institutions, including Prof. Sylvia CHEN, Prof. Yongjuan LI, Prof. Xinwen BAI and Prof. Xiqian LU, Associate Professors at the Institute of Psychology, CAS, shared their latest research developments and explored opportunities for joint research and academic exchange.
The PolyU delegation also visited CSMH’s research facilities, including the Cognition and Behavior Research Core, the Multimodality Cognitive Neuroimaging Core, and the Psychological Dream Factory (心理夢工廠), to gain deeper insight into the laboratory’s advanced capabilities in brain and cognitive sciences.
