Occupational therapy students win awards at i-CREATe again

BSc(Hons) in Occupational Therapy Year 3 students won the Best Presentation Award

Two teams of occupational therapy students from PolyU’s Department of Rehabilitation Sciences (RS) received awards at the 12th International Convention on Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology (i-CREATe) held on 13-16 July 2018 in Shanghai.

A team of four Master of Occupational Therapy students pocketed the Silver Award under the Design category. Their “The Cupensator” invention minimizes the unwanted oscillations and users can hold the cup and drink water in a firm manner, perform drinking as activities of daily living safely, independently, and effectively.

Meanwhile, a team of BSc(Hons) in Occupational Therapy Year 3 students walked away with the Best Presentation Award under the Design category for their “StoPanel”, which aims to increase the people with visual impaired users’ independence in taking public transport.
